UK Withdraws 45-Day Support Limit for Slavery Victims

Following a court case brought on by two survivors arguing that the policy imposing a 45-day limit on support to individuals identified as survivors of modern slavery through the National Referral Mechanism left them vulnerable to re-exploitation, the UK Home Office has withdrawn the policy. The Home Office says it will introduce a system that responds to individual survivors’ needs that does not put time limits on its support.
