The Freedom Fund recently released on report on gender inequality and modern slavery. This report, while not an exhaustive set of recommendations but rather a summary of learning, outlines what we know works and what we can do to break the cycle of women and girls’ exploitation. The report also identifies key areas where gender inequality and discrimination increases the risks of exploitation, trafficking and abuse faced by women and girls: lack of access to decent work; vulnerability to unsafe migration; exposure to violence and abuse; and lack of access to education and training.
