Research Analyst, RUSI

Michael Jones is a Research Analyst in the National Security and Resilience Team at the Royal United Services Institute, where he focuses on conflict and counter-terrorism. He has conducted research into violent extremism and militancy, with particular reference to East Africa. Before starting at RUSI Michael was lead researcher in the Africa programme for the Institute of Islamic Strategic Affairs, focusing on the intersections between crime, insurgencies and transnational terrorism in Sub-Saharan Africa. He holds an MSc in Conflict Studies from LSE.
